As you have probably heard by now, St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO, was devastated by the fatal tornado that struck the town on Sunday, May 22.

St. John's is a ministry of Mercy Health System headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, one of Provena Health's three sponsoring congregations.

In solidarity with our Mercy counterparts in Joplin, Provena Health is donating $5,000 to the Mercy Foundation for Health Innovation, Joplin Tornado Relief Fund. Many local Provena ministries are also planning various ways for employees to support the relief efforts.

"Please accept my personal gratitude for the prayers and financial support. Let your team know how meaningful it is to people here in Joplin when they hear their healthcare colleagues across the country are rallying in support of their needs," said Lynn Britton, President & Chief Executive Officer, Sisters of Mercy Health System, in response.

You can support the Tornado Relief efforts by making a secure online donation on the Mercy Foundation web site.
