Every day, employees and physicians across the Provena Health system are guided by their mission to build communities of healing and hope by compassionately responding to human need in the spirit of Jesus Christ. Expanding upon the faith and heritage of its founding religious congregations, Provena Health also commits itself to four values - Respect, Integrity, Stewardship and Excellence (R.I.S.E.) - which flow from its mission and identity as a Catholic healthcare ministry.
Each year, Provena Health employees have an opportunity to nominate fellow employees or physicians whom they feel best live out these values in their daily work as part of the system's annual R.I.S.E. award competition. Four local winners were chosen at each Provena hospital ministry, as well as Provena Life Connections, Provena Medical Group and the Provena Corporate Offices. From this distinguished group, four overall system winners were selected. (Stay tuned for videos on the rest of our winners!)

"Dr. Robert Foody is a skilled professional, a caring and compassionate physician, and an excellent example of caring for patients in a mission-based environment," states one of the nomination forms submitted on his behalf. "Since the opening of the Center for Diabetic Wellness at Provena Mercy Medical Center, Dr. Foody, an ophthalmologist, has generously volunteered his talent and time to provide free eye exams to patients without access to care. He gives of himself without expectation and lives our mission. He is most deserving of this honor."
