If you've walked into Suite 310 of the Provena Life Connections corporate office lately, you may have noticed a change. No, it’s not a new paint color on the wall or a new print hanging above the chair – it’s the hair length of Kim Golias, receptionist for Provena Life Connections!
But it wasn’t just an average hair cut – Kim donated her hair (13 inches) to Locks of Love. This is the second time Kim has done this in her life – the first time was in 2006.
“Sometimes, when you’re having those ‘I can’t’ moments in life, it’s important to examine your life and think of what you can do, no matter how simple it may be. Once you do that, your attitude and entire outlook on life changes, and then everybody benefits.” said Kim.
Kim began growing out a “horrible, short, layered haircut” three years ago, and once it all grew to one length, she decided to grow it out once again for Locks of Love.
“I think everyone should consider growing out their hair and donating it simply because they can,” said Kim. “Locks of Love mostly helps children who have lost their hair due to alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. It takes six to ten ponytails to make a wig, so the more donations the better!”
